Hi Thomas,
I believe that you are our first tour operator in Zanzibar. If you have any contacts with local DMOs, I would be happy to follow up with them to see if we can establish a promotion and distribution partnership. This would allow for added economic benefit to tour operators and the DMO in your area.
I am not sure if there are any online payment processors for Zanzibar. If you know of any, and are willing to pay for integration, we would be happy to add it to our list of supported payment gateways.
All the best,
Phil

Inappropriate?Hi Thomas,
Paypal supports Tanzania but not Zanzibar. As long as your business address is in Tanzania and you have a valid credit card and bank account you should be able to get a Paypal account. Rezgo supports Paypal so once you set up your online payments through Paypal, you can link it to your Rezgo account and start accepting on-line bookings.
You can sign-up for a Paypal account by using the following link:

If you know anyone at http://tanzaniatouristboard.com/ please let us know and we can make contact through our Middle-East & Africa partner.
Kind Regards,

Inappropriate?Hi Stephen,
Actually I thought about doing this a while ago, and found the Paypal process great and easy, until I realised that Paypal has different levels of services depending on which country you operate in.
Have a look at this page:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...
Basically in Tanzania, you can only pay out but can not receive any payments through a Paypal account!
If you know of something else... as far as I know the only way is to set up a foreign company which in our case is not something we would wish to do right now.
Thank you and Best Regards,
Thomas -
Inappropriate?Wow, it's not an easy thing being a tour operator in Tanzania. We have been discussing internally about creating a Rezgo payment system similar to the one offered by Regonline.com (a conference/event management software).
1) Is this something you would use?
2) Is it something you could see other African operators using in order to deal with the lack of payment processors?
3) Would suppliers be willing to pay a similar fee (4.95%) + Rezgo fee to use a system like that?
