Inappropriate content in results
I'm getting quite a few results that include inappropriate content. What are you doing to prevent that coming into my results? Sure I can exclude the words porn and nude in every search but I want to know if there is a better way where I don't have to manage that "crap".

Inappropriate?Hello Randy: We wage daily warfare on spam. As of today our algorithms classify as spam 70% of what humans classify as spam, and what we do is send it to the bottom of the results set. Starting tomorrow, we will simply suppress it altogether. Take a look at your results tomorrow and tell me if the change is helping. Also stay tuned for a new feature next month which will let you choose whether to view/ not view spam in your results sets- some of our customers want that option!

Inappropriate?Quick update: we made a change to eliminate even more spam this weekend. Randy, let us know if you can tell a difference next week!

Inappropriate?Just had a bunch of inappropriate content come up in the video tab. How do I get rid of it? Also, just from the thumbnails I know if it is bad so would be great to just have a button on the results page to remove it without having to see the detail of that video.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Not good.
So the photo and video content in Scout comes straight from the various services. They don't give us access to the full data dump (which we would LOVE to cleanse and de-spam, as we do blog twitter content), but we can't. The BEST way to get good content at the top and not the spam/porn, is to sort your photos by RELEVANCE (not date). Of course spammers may have adorned their nefarious content with tags and fake favorites and fake comments to make the offensive content look relevant, but its the best chance you have right now.
BUT, your idea for "kill this result" right on the photo/video digest page is brilliant. We are working on adding action controls to the blog results page and I'll make sure we are considering it for the "visual" content as well.
Thanks so much!
I’m hating spammers
