Bit.ly shortening service is not working for the past week

Bit.ly URL shortening does not seem to be working for the past week.

I re-generated my API key, confirmed my username was correct, and my API key was correct; however, when I go to shorten a URL it seems to time-out.

The box greys out for an unlimited amount of time after I hit "shorten." This only occurs for the bit.ly URL shortening service. The only way to stop and get back to Twhirl is to hit "Cancel." I have never had it work successfully for the past week with bit.ly's service. Is this a problem with Twhirl?

I am running Twhirl v0.9 on Linux using Adobe Air current. Bit.ly worked fine before. All other URL shortening services are working fine.
