I just set up my Smarty Pig account and the only thing that I would change would be the ability add to the account more than once a month. I get paid twice a month and I would like to have been able to add funds to my Smarty Pig account on those paydays.
I wanted to start a second account with you. However, I would like to auto-save less than $25 monthly. Have you considered allowing that, especially if someone already has a $25 and up auto-save account?

Why can't contributors contribute less than $25? My kids want to do a smartypig gift card giveaway to raise money and instead of collecting cash, want to provide flyers with the URL to contribute. They love their blogs and want to drive traffic there, but also want to collect for a good cause. Problem: Most people don't donate $25.
After signing in, it asks me to continue at Step 8. Repeat the cycle. Tried this 3 times already. Not working out. Although I'm dedicated to getting signed up, and not yet frustrated. =)
Why can't I pick a monthly contribution instead of a goal and automaticly calculated monthly ammounts?
I would rather decide how much is contributed each month and watch that grow until I hit my goal.
this question is for tiffany. awhile back I had a related question but I still have a question about that question. if i want to add money in addition to my regular withdrawl will that extra come out of my account into my smartypig account right away or will it wait until the withdrawl date I have set??
I would like the option to change the verbiage on the Facebook widget so it doesn't ask people for money. I just want to display it and let only people I choose know they can contribute for gifts if they want, not all of my friends because that seems rude.
I made my initial deposit of $25, which cleared my bank account several days ago. However, that money is still "pending" according to my Smartypig account. Why is that? How long does it generally take before Smartypig recognizes that a payment has cleared?
I love the idea behind SmartyPig, but it seems like it takes forever for pending transfers to clear, and while they do wait in limbo, I cannot change any details about the goal. Why not accept the changes to your goal but wait to apply them after the payment has been cleared? Since I first created the goal, my price point has changed and I would love to update the name of the goal as well so I can share it with my friends, but I am stuck checking every day to see if the payment has cleared.
Someone sent me a gift card and I evidently did not click on the notification to redeem it. Now it has been denied. What gives? Do I have to go back and ask someone to give me money again? That's absurd and embarrassing. Fix this probelm!
In fact (and I'm sure there are legal issues which are the cause of this but it needs to be said) the gift card thing is an awful way to accept donations. Expiring gifts? Bizarre. Who would ever intentionally deny one?
When I set up my account, I mistakenly set up the day for an automatic withdrawl from my checking account before the money would be available from my bank account. When I realized my mistake, I contacted customer service to stop the withdrawl and was told that they could not help me, I would have to go to my bank. I did and the fee was $27. Last night, I wanted to transfer money to my SmartPiggy account and could not. So I called customer service and was transfered to another person. This person told me that they could have stopped my withdrawl for me and that they will let the people in customer service know this. I said I wish CS had know this because it cost me $27. Now, because I had put a stop payment on this withdraw, my checking account was now blocked. So this person told me they would unblock the use my account and I could transfer money in about an hour. I waited until this morning. When I still could not transfer money to my SP account,I called CS and asked about my account being unblocked and she told me that she knew that there were technical problems with the "unblocking screen" and that it was being worked on. That no one can help me until Monday.
If there are only 4 employees, then you'd think the training and communication would superior.
I think one of the coolest things about SmartyPig is that it makes saving, fun. There are many reasons why SmartyPig is more fun than other banks, but I think that one of the main reasons is the unique is the design of the site itself. It's a pleasure on the eyes, featuring a simple minimalist design. However, I feel a bit frustrated by the lack of ability to visualize my money and individual goals.
Something that would make SmartyPig a lot more appealing to me at least would be outstanding graphical representation of accounts, including history, growth potential, balances, etc. I want to be able to SEE my money... where it has been, where it is, and where it is going... not just numbers, but rich graphs and analysis that allow me to gather a lot of information, quickly.
One of the things that makes finance so intimidating to people is the lack of good visual mediums for absorbing data. I would suggest making graphical representation of the data on this site would be a good thing to put at the top of the priority list to help grow the consumer base. It would set the product apart from other stodgy banks, and help maintain/grow SmartyPig's unique brand.
I could make a list of some of the most important graphs to include, and features of those graphs that would make them more relevant... but I don't want to write a novel here. This is just a brainstorming site anyway.
Can I create a joint Smarty Pig account? ...My husband and I both want access to the account for deposits/withdrawals. Right now, it looks like only one person can have that access and the other can only view.
I wrote yesterday about "Premature Withdrawl" and received a comment back but I want to know if you still plan on making a withdrawl on the original withdrawl date I chose or do I change the date?? Will I have another withdrawl coming out on the 28th. Please let me know. I don't plan on cancelling the previous transaction--too much of a hassle to go through. Thanks! Please let me know! Suzie
My email inbox is inundated! How about some control over which messages get sent to us? For example, I may want to hear from SmartyPig when I've reached my half-way point, but not hear from them EVERY SINGLE TIME they remove funds from my account. Maybe I want to hear when someone adds funds to my account, but I don't want to get a notification every time SmartyPig plans on taking scheduled funds out of my account.
At the very least, there should be a checklist of the potential notifications SmartyPig will be sending me, and I should be able to opt-out of said notifications if I wish.
The numerical indicator after "notifications" should indicate the number of UNREAD items, not the number of all the items. I want to keep certain messages in there, but I don't want the annoying # indicator right next to it making me think I have a new message.
This is especially important as you grow your "notifications" library. You start to forget how many notifications you had, so when you get a new notification, you dont' even notice it.
It should work just like email, text messages, etc. The number should indicate NEW items, not ALL items.
