Inappropriate?Hello,
We are currently aware of an issue that affects all Snapfish home videos users. This issue causes all videos recorded in .avi or .mov formats to fail uploading. The only file format for videos that is currently working is the .mpeg format.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Thank you for your continued support of Snapfish! -
Inappropriate?Colin,
Thanks for replying to my problem. Are you aware that .avi files can be uploaded through Win. XP? I have done quite a few using an old computer. This computer has died, thus my frustration. Is there a way to convert .avi to .mpeg? -
Inappropriate?Hello,
We are aware that sometimes .avi uploads will work with Windows XP, however it is not consistent at this time. We are currently working on a complete overhaul of our Snapfish home videos service that we plan to release sometime around the holidays though, so please stay tuned for that!
As for converting video file formats, we do not develop or support this kind of software, however I would recommend that you try looking at your options using Google or another popular search engine. -
Inappropriate? Thanks again for your reply. I have done a Google search and found many "converter" programs that will convert .avi to other formats. I notice that there are several different mpeg formats -- 1, 2, 4. And there is an .mpg format. Which is accepted by Snapfish?
I do appreciate your quick responses to my questions. If your response is representative of the rest of the Snapfish crew, maybe there is hope. I do think the Snapfish website should provide this information in the discussion of adding videos -- esp. since they are charging for the service. I hope the bugs are worked out soon, or I will have to find another site to share photos and videos of my new granddaughters.
I will be waiting for the answer to my last question.
Kay
