Allowing non-members to view videos
Is there a plan in the near future to allow videos to be viewed by non-members. I have a video driven site but some people don't want to take the time to sign up until they watch a video or two. I use motionbox and blip to embed my videos so it shouldn't be a bandwidth issue.
Thank you

Inappropriate?Hey Greg,
I'm affraid not, this is for your beneifit, allowing videos to be viewable to non members would give you a big nasty bandwidth bill at the end of the month...
What i can suggest is on your main page simply ask people to sign up, it only takes 2 minutes of their time :)
Cheers

Inappropriate? Thanks for getting back with me. I was under the thought that if I embed a video from somewhere else it wouldn't count against my bandwidth (ex. youtube, vimeo, blip). Am I wrong?
-
Correct Greg as it comes from the 3rd party server not ours.

Inappropriate?mm i would suggest you to embed one or two clips in your page and then ask your members to sign up for watching more clips...
i think if the users find the clips intrestign they might sign up
yeah embedding video is a nice idea if you are runnign a site featuring video.
also try categorizing your videos using groups... -
Inappropriate?Embedded videos should be viewable by anyone IMHO

Inappropriate?i support that too.. again i think it should be optional :cause it took me a lot time to get all the anime episodes and i can;t let non members view it :P
