Can not reset password, not working
Step one to ask for forgotten password- put in email
Step two, we get a email to click a link to bring us to step three
Step three should say password has been sent, it does not say this, it only brings us to the sign up sheet and no password is sent.
I just tested it myself with my Verizon mail , which does not consider SG as spam.
My members can not get in who need to reset their password.

Inappropriate?This process appears to be working correctly; I've just reset my password on 2 sites. The process is as follows:
1) Click "forgot your password"
2) Enter email address hit submit. (get message 1/3)
3) You will get an email (check your spam folder as were still debating with various providers), this email is step 2/3.. click on the link in the email.
4) step 3/3 then loads and another email is sent, this last email has your new randomised password in it. -
Inappropriate?Hi Ross, when I tested it the link I clicked on in the email brought to me to the sign up page (welcome page) and it did not have the notice- that a password was being sent and I did not get a password.
I had done this before and it always said, password being sent. -
Inappropriate?You are lucky Ross, The link in the email takes my members and myself back to the welcome/signup page. Just as Suz. I have three networks on here and all three does the same thing. The thing that is frustrating me is, I migrated two of my networks from another social network. One has over 2000 members. Now, not one of them can reset their password. Luckily some of them choose to re-register, when they couldn't reset their password. I am still waiting for a reply from socialgo on this problem.

Hi i am having trouble loggin into the network i belong to it says my password is incorrect. However I know this to be false and I have tried to reset the pw and when i do that it says that I am not registered. This is crazy can you look ino this for me User Name is Bones7428@yahoo.com -

Issue : I have migrated the 6000 members of my old ning adult site , with the tool given by Evil Genius SocialGomemberImport, this went almost well .
Now my members are in my group database but I receive every day hundreds of mails on the specific access issue box I have created for them on a specific mailbox.
They cannot enter the site even when they ask for password reset. even if they follow the process :
the solution given by socialgo for members : update their profile and reset password does not work
i tried to do it myself for them with my super administration powers (when they gave me their password) again Nothing worked.
I tried to delete all the 5500 members who cannot join and re invite them , but it is not working because they are already know as member and cannot be invited again with the same e mail. it's a big issue.
What can I do ? i thought about deleting all the 5000 members that never could join the site (1000 actually could over 6000) and ask Socialgo to erase the deleted people only.
Could this solution work? Any other solution?
by the way the same happened to me yesterday, as an owner i was not able to enter my site with same usual message (Can not reset password, not working,) I managed to solve it for my case by joining through administration section.
thanks for all. I'm depserate after 1 week work on my new network and trying to help my members to log in.
i'm really tired of this because I worked a lot to build this socialgo site in a very short time frame (because of NINg debacle)

hang in there... there's been a lot of action over the last couple days with the mass exodus out of Ning. Many of the member login issues are likely related to the server updates that are still ongoing.
As a temporary alternative, until the SoGO teams come back online in a couple hours (London time), you could delete any members who cannot login (or the whole lot). These folks will then be able to simply join your site "fresh" but use the old email that they were previously using on your Ning site. The deletion will remove those emails from the database.
Thanks for your patience during the process of adopting all the stranded site owners such as yourself. In the end, it will all work out just fine. Keeping your members informed of the tech progress will help them to adjust their schedules and expectations as well. -

I have created a test account on your network, can you please approve me and I will try and reproduce it.
Remember that resetting a password is a two email process. Email 1 contains a reset link. Email 2 contains their new password.
From there they are directed to a login page. They then need to login with their new password.
From there, they are directed to their Account page.
For clarity, your members can reset their passwords via email? They just can't reset them for a more memorable one when they go to their Edit Account page?
If so, please remember that Firefox and other browser's Autofill may have placed an old password in the 'Current password' field. Make sure the 'Current password' field contains the one we sent you via email when you clicked 'Forgot password'. -

I just received the email with my new password after 5 hours. When I tried to use the new password, it still said there was a username/password error. I'm going to try again. -
It's been about an hour and a half since I reset my password again and I still haven't received the new password. I'm pretty sure it's not my email service (yahoo) since I've sent test emails and received them immediately. -

E-mails may sometimes be delayed in getting to you if there is a queue of e-mails being processed, however you definitely should receive it, especially if you received the first one (that would indicate it's not a problem with Junkmail or suchlike).
Please let me know if you got the final e-mail. -

Yes, the member instructions are what I followed for my member account. I finally did receive the new password email and it took about 9 hours to receive. Interestingly, the timestamp on the final email (step 3/3) within Yahoo mail says it was sent just 45 minutes after the first email (step 2/3) which obviously wasn't the case for me. Why is there a difference between the timestamp and when I actually receive the email? I don't think the problem is on Yahoo's end since I'm able to receive regular emails immediately. -
Inappropriate?Apologies for the time delay... I'll investigate why this happened, it could've been due to a queue of e-mails on our mail server, or could've been something between us sending it and Yahoo receiving it. Glad you eventually got it though.
