Change home "latest activity" to "friend feed"!
As a site owner of a big site the "latest activity" can go mad nad i feel the some members don't want other member to see what there doing.
As well as that then you could add the "MEMBER is firends with MEMBER" back.

Inappropriate?this is 100% right , no one can say that s.g. must keep the latest activity,if someone say that is for sure wrong or wants a website with few members and i hope next months to change to friend activity , this is the 1st serious problem , and the 2d serious problem is the friend chat i believe .
