Can I pay to have a custom app similar to the Upcoming Birthdays script created?

Inappropriate?An addition to this question. Will we be able to access the database with say php we put into a home page widget? I do this a lot with wordpress to create custom widgets. -
Inappropriate?When the 3rd Party Widget Store is released you will likely then have access to custom app creation by WidgetLaboratory or others. Likewise, there will be API hooks into the database for customization.
