Users have reported, that removing "libvisual-0.4-plugins" from your system solved issues. Could you try that too?

After doing so and songbird did run once, some people could even re-install that package. Others couldn't though. That resulted in the same error again.

Would be nice, if you could check that out!

i have the same problem, but i couldn fix it with tylerstyle recommendation, i hope someone can fix this error, i love songbird

Removing libvisual-0.4-plugins from Synaptic makes it so I can run Songbird 1.2.0. Reinstalling libvisual-0.4-plugins breaks it again, however.

I don't really know what libvisual-0.4-plugins does, so is this something I can deal without?

jaunty 64 here. removed libvisuals. still same problem. tried to open profile manager. same crashtastic result. all about a "segmentation fault"

I love using songbird, but I have encountered the same problems when I try to update to 1.2.0.

Right, I've finally managed to get 1.2.0 working. I uninstalled the libvisual-0.4-plugins first, then downloaded Songbird from the Getdeb website and now it's working.

I have this problem and I do not have libvisual-0.4-plugins or the -projectm one installed. I'm using 64-bit Jaunty.

The problem still exists with the latest nightly build.

I think this problem is the same issue that is happening wiht firefox 3.5

are you running gnome global menu?

This is what's causing it for me...it's REALLY annoying.
