Able to play ANY file EXCEPT .mp3
I think my Windows Codec is corrupted. No media player can mp3 files, but they can play .flac files. How do I uninstall and reinstall the mp3 codec on Windows? MediaMonkey let me install a different codec but I'd rather just fix the root of the problem.

Inappropriate?Songbird in the newest version uses the Gstreamer codec collection instead of the windows one so I don`t know If you are looking in the right corner.
I will probably help if you tell us what operating system you are using and what version of songbird you are running.
Also please tell if you have the ACM mp3 decoder and the Windows media playback plugins installed. -
Inappropriate?Solved it! If you uninstall Windows Media Player in Windows 7, it removes the ability to play .mp3 files. Look at my attached picture to see what I did to fix it.
