Can't run Songbird 1.2.0 on Kubuntu jaunty
After I install songbird, the program won't start up. I'm using kubuntu jaunty. I tried to install it with a deb file and by simply downloading songbird from the website. Both ways give the same problem. When I want to run the program it starts up at first (can't see the songbird screen but a window tries to open) and then disappears. When I want to run it again I get the message Songbird is already running but not responding. I don't have problems with Songbird 1.1.2. Are there still problems with the new version?

Inappropriate? The output from the terminal is:
(crashreporter:19354): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_sensitive: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed -
Inappropriate?EDIT
Found a solution searching around. I don't know what other side effects it has, but it works.
sudo apt-get remove libvisual-0.4-plugins
Now I just need to get the MMKeys plugin working
I’m anxious

Inappropriate?I had the same problem with songbird 1.2. Installing from a .deb or from the default tar.gz was the same. I would start songbird and a window saying "starting songbird" would appear briefly. After that.... nothing.
removing libvisual-0.4-plugins fix my problem. Thanks Joel!

Inappropriate?@Joel - thanks, this fixed my problem too. I saw on getdeb.com that it said to remove the libvisual-0.4-plugins if you have an Nvidia graphics card. No explanation, just that it needs to be done. Having done it, Songbird is now working correctly.
I’m thankful
