Now Playing add-on works strangely
In the Now Playing list, Songbird marks the next song as playing - despite displaying the correct metadata in the bar. If I rate the track, it sets the rating for the next track on the list (which is marked as playing on the list). It appears only to be a problem in the Now Playing add-on

Inappropriate?1. What version of Songbird?
2. What OS?
3. What version of the addon?
4. How are you rating the track? -
Inappropriate?1. 0.7 RC3, but also in the latest nightly build
2. Ubuntu Linux
3. 0.5.1
4. The rating was just a test, to see if the problem was just in where the "Playing" icon is in the list. In the Player Controls, on the right, there is an option that allows you to click on a star and have that rating saved to the track.
Thanks for such a quick response.
I’m grateful

Inappropriate?Could you please provide steps to reproduce this. I am not seeing what you described.

Inappropriate?Under ubuntu (8.04), fire up Songbird. Set the Now Playing mode to "Play Queue". Add a few songs to the play queue. Click Skip. I'll attach a screenshot, so that you can see the problem. As you can see, the

The track that is playing through the speakers is the one named in the information bar at the top, not the one marked as playing in the Now Playing list. I applied the rating to that particular track, but it is the track a few places lower in the list that receives the rating, as shown by both the Now Playing list, and the Library view. -
Inappropriate?Ok, I am seeing this now. This is a bug. Could you please file it at bugzilla.songbirdnest.com? If you don't have an account, you will need to sign up for one (it is free).
Please provide all the details you have here. Once you have done that, please post a link here.
Thanks. -
Inappropriate? This will be solved with the next version of the add-on that will be released with Songbird 1.0
-
Inappropriate?Fixed in the next version of the add-on which has been uploaded. It no longer works with Songbird 0.7 though, so you have to be using 1.0RC2 or wait for Songbird 1.0 to be officially released.

Inappropriate?I have 1.0, and this addon still doesn't work. The thing deletes songs from the playlist after they are played, crashes if you add a lot of things to the playlist via double-clicking, creates an annoying and unremoveable playlist in the playlist pane, and has funky behavior if it is open on two panes at once. Can't we just have official support for playlists in a pane?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I think this needs to be a static piece of the program rather than an addon. This seems like it should be an inherent part of any modern media player.
