Problem With Artist Pane Display: Not Showing Up / Incorrect order
First of all, love Songbird, and the newest release. A+ job you guys. :)
Anyway, the problem that I'm having is recent (As in, did not happen in Songbird 1.0.0)
What happens is, as you can see in the picture, my artist "!!!" shows up in my Library pane, but dos not exist (Throughout the entire list, I've checked) in the Artist pane. It's not a huge deal, but it should be brought to your attention.
Also, I don't know if this is intentional or not, but I understand "The" and "A" being 'dropped' to properly place my artists, but for things like
El Perro Del Mar
&
Los Campesinos!
when I expect to find them under E and L respectively, I instead find them in P and C, which just confuses me. Is there a way to set a list of words to 'drop' and which to "laisse-faire"?

They did in fact add this as a feature in 1.1, because a lot of people will look like "killers" for instance, instead of "the killers".
You are right though, it doesn't appear as though there is any way to shut off the new behavior. So under advice from IRC, it has been posted as a bug report under: http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...
We'll have to see what happens :)

Inappropriate?That's actually how it should work. Los and El are definite articles in Spanish and should therefore be ignored when sorting. Would you expect definite articles to only be ignored in English if you're an English speaker primarily?1 Comment

I was just hoping to have the option of turning it off, or selecting which words get sorted like that. As all my other music players WILL drop "The" and "A" and "Les" (french) but not "Los" and "El" so I've grown used to finding them there.
And as for my "!!!" issue? :) -
Inappropriate?We're sadly probably not going to give you the option of just turning that off (since it would also turn off ignoring 'the' 'a' and 'les'). However, we could possibly provide a way to edit which articles will get ignored.
The !!! issue is because that string is entirely composed of symbols which we also ignore. It's a separate issue that's unrelated to the articles. We're already working on that problem and should have a fix for the next release. -

Inappropriate?so there is no way to go back to the original sorting order, with the "The" under the letter T and so on?
Cause this goes up against all logic to my mind.
Now all the "The" artists, not to mention the french ones starting by "Le", "Les, "L'" and so on are scattered all across my library.

Inappropriate?i'm used to "the" and "a" being dropped but why is les savy fav, which is just french sounding gibberish, not under "L"? also, the (international) noise conspiracy needs to be under "I". how do i make songbird ignore the parenthesis? help!
