Songbird Mediaflow and other plugins affected by the lack of xserver-xgl in newer linux distributions

In newer linux distributions xserver-xgl has been replaced by aiglx.
Certain Songbird plugins seem to require xserver-xgl to run smoothly.
Mediaflow is definitely affected, it's unusable in it's current state. I think other plugins like pure-player are also affected.

Is anything being done to address this issue?
