Songbird not finding all my music?
Amarok (remotely) finds 26,000 songs. Songbird only finds 17,000. What's up with that? Both pointed at the same root folder. 0.6.1 on OS X 10.5.2. find command finds 30,000 files.

Inappropriate?Could depend on the kind of media and songbird not recognizing specific types. For example lets say .mp3's.
Do you have all gstreamer plugins installed? -
Inappropriate?There might be duplicates too...
-
Inappropriate?Songbird doesn't allow duplicates in a library.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem, and it isn't duplicates because there are whole folders, in a variety of media formats (including some already present on my playlist) that just don't show up. I don't fancy wading through 30G of music trying to find and add everything manually.

Inappropriate?TBc s2$ du -sk Music

TBc s2$ find Music -type f | grep .mp3 | wc -l

I haven't installed any plugins. I can't imagine that 40% of my files are duplicates. Maybe Judi or I can find some pattern to, if its skipping entire folders.
I suspect there may be funny characters in some folder names that derail Songbird for example. Any suggestions or ways to get debug output, something analagous to this http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Statistics or set some flag so it will dump out messages about folders its skipping?
I’m curious yellow

Inappropriate?I have similar difficulties, and yes i am sure i have *some* duplicates, but like my WHOLE Led Zeppeling collection is missing, only a single album found, with a single track in it.. And that is having the complete discography on the drive!
Any resolve this yet, I am new was hope it was just a setting that needed to be tweaked???

Inappropriate?Same here: I have about 35 GB of music in multiple formats: Flac, MP3 and WMA
I am only seeing a fraction - with no rhyme or reason that I can see as to what shows up. I did remove all profiles and start fresh and Songbird found a bit more the second time. Still under 25% of the library (all in one folder on an external esata connected drive). Running 0.6.1 - previous versions did not have this issue.
If this is they way it handles large librarys better I think its back to the whiteboard. :) -
Inappropriate?I had this problem with strange characters in Directory name, File name or even Tags, maybe it's that?
