Songbird RC1 won't play .oga (same as .ogg) format.
Songbird (RC1) doesn't play Ogg Vorbis audio files with the .oga extension, but has no problem if I change the extension to the more prevalent .ogg. This wouldn't be a big deal, but, for whatever reason, the CD Extractor that comes with the latest version of Ubuntu (8.10), rips CDs to .oga instead of .ogg as the default Ogg Vorbis format, I know I'm not the only one using that.
A shell script accomplished the renaming of files with minimal headaches since the library was pretty small, but a user switching to Songbird with a vast library would probably appreciate this teensy fix.

Inappropriate?I had no idea that there was a .oga extension for Ogg! Sure enough, we don't handle it. Thanks for the heads-up.
I logged bug 13677 to keep track of this. Keep an eye on it here: http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show... I hope we can turn this around before our final 1.0 release! -
Inappropriate?Aaaand... it's already fixed. Our developers are fast (and awesome). Keep an eye out for the next product update from us.
I’m glad we fixed this quickly!

I got songbird (1.0.0. Build 860) for windows... I'm getting a playback error on an .ogg. What gives if the developers where meant to have fixed it? -
Inappropriate? Are you sure you have the codecs installed for Windows?
