Track Numbers Only Show in Songbird
I put in the track numbers for my songs like 1 / 15 when I put in the second part (through songbird) and exported it to iTunes my track numbers are now gone from my music. This is very upsetting as I don't know how to restore it back to the way it was or fix it.

Inappropriate?here's what i'm talking about can someone please help this is frustrating having my tracks messed up on my phone. :(

I’m really frustrated
-
Inappropriate?not trying to be impatient but this has ruined my library outside of songbird. If a rep could help me troubleshoot that'd be immensely appreciated as I've been trying to fix this for hours.

Inappropriate? As I posted in your other topic

We will try a fresh start and go from there, if you don't mind.
Do that and then come back for answers!

Inappropriate?Seems that the link is broken!

Inappropriate?Lets try that again, then!

Inappropriate?Okay, thanks. I've done that and it fixed my other problems - I thank you for that. But this seems to be a metadata issue, that songbirds metadata editing isn't compatible with anything else. Because I've checked in iTunes, Media Monkey, Winamp, Tag&Rename, etc, etc and all of them don't have my tracks or disc numbers. (The ones I edited in Songbird anyways which is nearly all.) I'd absolutely hate having to look at the track listing from songbird and editing my tracks 1 by 1 in itunes. That's just ridiculous..

it's been a week of my ipod being messed because of this.. -
Inappropriate?I never encountered this issue before and heard of no one with similar Problems. It seems very odd and is probably a failure, that only occurred for you...
Sad, but true.
Did you try to edit them, now, with your fresh profile again and test, if the issue remains? -
Inappropriate?Still doing it. I manually fixed a track, then I cleared the out of (like 1 out of 10) and then it cleared the actual track number. So I put it back in and put the out of number back in also. And the track number, again, vanished. I tested this through iTunes & Media Monkey. Songbird it shows it's fine, so I don't really understand why the metadata is read through there. Maybe no one has input the track listing numbers before or have taken it out of songbird so they don't see the problem. Could you try highlighting an album and inputting the total track number for the album?

can i please get some satisfaction? awaiting somewhat patiently.. -
Inappropriate?I still couldn't resolve this issue, yet. I'm on to it though. Have patience. Up until then, I can only advise you to use a Program like EasyTAG to edit your Files.
-
Inappropriate? Is there an option for it to only edit my track #s?
-
What do you mean? EasyTAG? EasyTAG can edit every mp3 you have, or only one, yes. -
no i mean can it just edit my track numbers? like 1 out of 10 etc etc.
because that's my problem.. my titles and artists in my id3 tags are fine, they're just sorted alphabetically in itunes and everywhere else besides songbird because it has no track #s anymore. and i edited them through songbird, so it is songbird.
so can i have easytag not edit my titles or anything else except my track #? -
my library has been ruined well over a month now and i need support since your product has caused this. is anyone here to help? -
Inappropriate?Maybe posting somewhere a sample file that has the problem could help.
If a metadata is displayed in Songbird and not visible elsewhere it can have two meanings:
- either data could not be written to the file itself and is only store in SB database (the data you can see in Songbird library is read from this database, not directly from the files)
- or SB has written in in a way (using recent standard ID3v2.4) that is not understood yet by other tools (WMP on XP has this issue for instance).
Depending on the option, there may be different solutions.
- if the tag is in SB database and not in the file: use the Tagger extension in Songbird to force rewriting of database tags to files.
- in SB has written it correctly in the file, but the other tool cannot read it... well, then I don't know exactly what to do. Maybe use another massive tagging tool to repair (like the Godfather on Windows)...
But don't worry, I really don't think your library is "ruined", as the data is still there in SB library at least !
And I've known worst "ruins" ;)
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I have just encountered the same problem. For example, I have "manage music" turned on, so it copies FLACs with embedded track numbers to my Songbird Music folder and renames them accordingly. However, after it has done so, those track numbers will not read correctly in any other program. They display perfectly in Songbird, but when I stream them to PS3 Media Server the track numbers are not present. When I stream the original (prior to importing to Songbird and having it reorganize everything) they display fine. It is either stripping the track numbers out or renaming them in an incompatible way.
