Why does Songbird list "Now Playing List" extension as incompatible but I can install and use it without problems?

Why is the extension "Now Playing List" showing as incompatible within Songbird, whereas i can install ist manually by downloading the xpi-file first and then using the installation dialogue? (using ubuntu 8.10, songbird 1.0 and the newest version of the extension mentioned above)
