Soocial stuck waiting for Gmail activation
Soocial seems to be stuck activating my Gmail account. I added Gmail, authorised Soocial but on my "connections" page it still says "Being setup waiting for activation" after almost a day...

After setting up the Gmail connection it usually takes about 3 hours before the initial sync. Sometimes a bit longer if it is busy.
The reason is that a sync job is being put in a queue. There is no way to speed this up. Resetting the Gmail connection will just put you back in the queue.

I spotted another issue for you. Something seems to go wrong with you Mac
sync too. Do you use an old OSX app? Please install the latest. -

Inappropriate?It looks to me that Soocial is not wat it promisses. Stil waiting for syncing with google apps(>2 hours). This way it is useless.
The most imposrtant feature of soocial is syncing with other addressbooks is not working at all!!!(i know it is a Beta, but atleast this should work)
Please an answer on how and when this wil work the way it should

Inappropriate?Guys, I've been using Soocial for about 7 months now. It's been working pretty well, even in its alpha-stages. This particular bug has been pretty annoying for the past 2 weeks or so, but except of this, the service has always served well and the developers were always willing to help.
Please, don't blame them just for having this bug. Give them some time to resolve it and I'm sure you'll become a fan of the service, just like me.

Inappropriate?@ Ján; Good for you it is working, but lets face the truth; If I (and lot's of other users(?)) can't sync with the contacts (which in my opinion is the most important funcion), how can we be able to test is Soocial is usefull? If have tried a few weeks back to do this and it wasn't working. Never got any answer nor replies on how or when I can use it. Then i decided to delete my account. This week wanted to give it a try again....and still not working....
What is the problem that Soocial ca't sync with Gmail or other address books..?
This is something that others e.g. zyb cn do without any problems.
Ján can you please point out the benefits of Soocial above e.g. Zyb? As i can't test soocial now and find out myself. Is it worth waiting for?

Bartels, sorry to hear your experience sucks right now we hope to fix it ASAP. Can you post a link of where your question was unanswered - we try to answer everyone in a timely fashion because we care and want you to have a hassle-free experience. Not cool if your experience sucks.
As far as Soocial's usefulness - we try to sync all your connections not just your phone. Zyb doesn't sync with GMail, Highrise, your mac and Outlook - they are a cool solution that does a social network around you phone's address book. They have good import features but don't do an active sync like Soocial.
We offer a sync of your address book and aim to do that very well. That means deduping your contacts and keeping all your connections in sync. We don't do calendar's, notes, email, photos - nor are we a social network.

Thanks for your answer. I need to me patiant with Beta products, I know. After six hours Soocial sync my Gmail contacts. However i found 1 problem; Gmail has got a field which is named ; NOTES. This is not sync with Soocial. if i chage something in my Soocial contacts and sync again with Gmail wil this be deleted? I would like this field to excist in Soocial to so it wil syc this ith my cell too. -

don't worry even though the Soocial interface doesn't show the Notes, they are still there. So you don't have to worry about lsing your notes field. In the near future we will be updating our interface to show notes and other fields (i.e. birthday etc.) -

Everyone else having this problem - we are working on it and will try to fix it ASAP. We're pretty stoked with all these new users. Our systems are very busy syncing all your contacts to and fro - however it will take a bit longer than normal. There is a bug in there for some users that we are working to fix. Other users should be syncing fine...
Please be patient - we are doing our best!

Sorry about that. That's not cool. We'll have to communicate it clearer, when selecting 'erase contacts in Gmail' that GTalk contacts will be deleted too. This is actually a big thing, because Google's API doesnt distinguish 'My Contacts' from 'Suggested Contacts' or from 'GTalk contacts'. Hope they will fix that soon.

Some backlog has to be worked through, but you should see your sync happen quite soon. -

Did you just keep waiting for as long as it took then it finally just happened, or did you delete the Gmail connection then start over, and it worked the next time?
