Spotify always thinks it's offline
After the forced update, Spotify is stuck in offline mode (I'm obviously online as I'm posting this). Restarting app does not fix this. Cannot play any music. This bug has rendered Spotify useless. (Gone back to iTunes :) )

Inappropriate?Try manually downloading and reinstalling Spotify from our website and see if that fixes it?
-
Inappropriate?Ive reinstalled, still no connection. There are no firewall rules blocking it. Here is what it does:
On logging in, it tries 80.80.80.80 port 1234 (what kind of address is this?!) I allow it, but after that Spotify makes no more outgoing connections.
I've completely reinstalled it, no difference. Spotify 0.3.20 rev 55260 on osx 10.5.8
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Just downloaded spotify again and installed it. No need to uninstall your current program.
Works fine now! -
Inappropriate?Yay, I managed to make it work again. Reinstalled Spotify and clicked my playlist like a MILLION FRICKING times before it went online..
I’m better now.

Inappropriate?I have the same - i think it may be because I'm behind a firewall that doesn't allow it to update. It used to refuse to start until I reinstalled the new version, I guess this change is to allow premium users to play their offline content if they can't upgrade.
I’m sad

Inappropriate? To troubleshoot offline, try following steps:
1. Uninstall Spotify ( win: control panel -> add/remove programs)
2. Now go to your personal firewall/internet security and find any settings for Spotify, delete them.
(EX: Norton, Windows firewall, and others security apps)
3. Now we should have a clear platform, a fresh start!
4. Http://www.spotify.com/download - download and install latest spotify
5. Try login and see if you get online
6. Check your firewall/internet security app to make sure that Spotify application is allowed to connect to the internet.
Now you should be able to connect, if else there is most likely a company firewall not allowing you to connect, if so please talk to your it department.

Well its not great, but it does the job (most of the time). Why cant there be a force online button? The autodetection still takes a while. -
Inappropriate?it worked for me!
