We currently don't have any plans for Windows Mobile. And we do want to launch on as many platforms as possible.
- But if we get plans we will announce it on the blog, https://www.spotify.com/blog, keep an eye there!
And to help us know more on how many people have a windows mobile, vote on the topic here in the forums as well as update your profile in Spotify to let us known what mobile platform you are using, update here:

Maybe - depending on market interest, technical feasibility, commercial potential etc.
We are always thinking about how to improve Spotify, mobility is certainly an interesting and obvious feature that a lot of people ask for.
When this will happen? Not quite known yet, but keep an eye on the Spotify blog at https://www.spotify.com/blog to be in the loop on the latest developments around Spotify and our device support.

Inappropriate?I agree, I've already unsubscribed from Spotify and am about to unsubscribe from this thread. It's too big a world to be brought down by this poor customer service - Good luck everyone :)

Inappropriate?IMHO a bunch of rubbish has been spouted in this thread.
Spotify have made it clear that whilst they would like to see the client on every platform they have no current plans for WM. How much clearer can they be? Do you think they have some sort of moral obligation to support WM either a) at all or b) in a time frame that suits you. -
Well Idon’t think you are correct in your comment because Spotify has more or less announced that they will Support Windows Mobile.
Unfortunately you will not find this information on this site and has not been announced by any low-level employee...
Accordning to a news article on the Daily Telegraphs website from September 2009 the CEO of Spotify Daniel Ek har announced that Spotify are working on supporting Windows Mobile. However there is no mentioning of a timeframe. The one thing that makes me very disappointed with Spotify is that every employee on this site has denied any such information and that’s just bad customer service/information.
Here’s the link to the news article at the Daily Telegraph:
Spotify chief: mobile music is the future -
What Daniel said is that we're looking at WM and BlackBerry which is pretty much the same thing we've always said. We want to be on as many platforms as possible, including WM. It's in our interest to open Spotify to as many platforms as possible.
There is no time line or additional information but as soon as we have something to say we will let everyone know. -
I can't see how you can't announce to the nearest half year when you plan to release. Otherwise it's just pipe dream and nobody is impressed. -

Inappropriate?Very disappointing that spotify haven't responded to what is clear demand, but then native WinCE developers are few and far between. I think we can blame Microsoft for this one - release a mobile platform with a native development environment (WinCE) that hardly anyone can develop for. Then rather than release the necessary training material (unlike Apple's excellent iPhone development videos), expect people to build apps in the compact version of .net framework - an interpreted language for an embedded device purlease...
I'd place a bet that Spotify have tried to get it working on the backwards tech that is Windows Mobile and failed. And before I get flamed, I'm a proud owner of an SonyEricson Xperia X1 and an HTC Touch Pro2 and have had win mo phones since the HTC Wizard. The Touch Pro2 is a great phone, but only because HTC have overridden any semblance of Windows Mobile from it.
I have finally lost my patience with Microsoft's strategy for this product. Android (in the shape of a Nexus One http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/12/12/...) here I come...
I’m disappointed

Nail on the head.
However, expect WinMo 7 with Silverlight support to start taking on the mobile app market by storm. Microsoft have often been late to the party with technologies, but they usually claw their way back through agressive funding, marketing and actually making a good product (eventually). -
Inappropriate?Well if you look at the statistics for OS market shares you will find that
Windows Mobile is ahead of several others such as Android, Blackberry and Palm OS etc.
Operating System Market Share -
I'm not sure that just assessing market share is the way to do it, though. I would have thought (and it's just speculation) that users of WM are far more likely to pay for a monthly premium subscription that, say, a Symbian user...surely WM tends to be used more by professionals than consumers with more disposable income? -

Redcitrus, you are correct.
You're average WinMo user is a business user. Add to the fact that media capabilities of WinMo suck, you're unlikely to find that big of a percentage that will be interested in Spotify.
However, MSFT want that to change, and expect massive changes in WinMo 7 along the lines of media, application development and other such cool stuff. The target demographic will then broaden.
I wouldn't mind if the guys at Spotify told us that they weren't going to develop a version until WinMo 7 is out next year. That makes sense, but the lack of communication is terrible customer relations. But it also wouldn't surprise me if they didn't really have a solid strategy yet, hence the hush or we're looking at it, but not telling you. -
Inappropriate?Put simply, the developers of MySpot can produce a half decent application which only lacks a little functionality as it was developed without input from Spotify, and spotify apparently can't. If I were the head of software development at Spotify, this would embarass me somewhat.
Also it's worth considering that the WiMo users are among the potential new customers of the future. Spotify seem to think that we'll simply wait for them, but the fact that we're being forced to find alternatives must increase the potential that by the time Spotify raise from their laurels, we'll already have found and signed up with a competetor. -
Inappropriate?Spotify have really blown it! They probably want money from microsoft, but what they get is angry customers! Typical swedish!
I’m pissed

Inappropriate?after reading this thread I get the impression that spotify qualifies for what is called a "killer app".... If it is not supported on Win, people will buy the correct phone to suit the application.
I myself have a Win6.5 mobile, and being a programmer I know I would be able to roll out an application faster on this device than both iphone and android for several reasons.. But I start to get confident the workload is not what this is about.. Spotify probably have a legal contract and timeframe for NOT releasing windows, and when legal terms are satisfied you will see the application ready to launch for sure in the blink of an eye.
Because the marked is just too big to neglect... No sane company would do this unless they were forced by legal contracts... Or want to squeeze microsoft for money, but this will for sure hurt their own business as the time goes by.
If any competitor release anything for my windows mobile, I will flow over to what is available in an instant.... And I am starting to hope this happens soon because the idea is good... it is just not in reach for my environment.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?i am so tired of waiting for WM spotify client! I gonna cancel my premium subscription as well. I was hoping for the client before christmas so i could enjoy it on my HD2 phone.
I’m Mad as hell!

Inappropriate?A lot of discussions about the market share for the different mobile systems. The latest complete analysis I have seen is quite old and the report from Garner is done half a year a ago, and covers statistics from 2007 and 2008. I suspect that WinMo will drop some market share in 2009, but nevertheless I think this is still a good fact base to set the discussions in some context.

Inappropriate? There is a way to get spotify on windows mobile. Simply go to:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/get-m...
and click download. Copy the .cab file to your windows mobile device and allow it to install by opening it. I would also advise using gsplayer alongside this program. The interface is okay in spotify, but it requires a media player to play the actual music. You can get GSplayer at
http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA0328...
unzip and copy the .cab file. You could use any media player, but i found that this one works best.
In order to use this, you will need a spotify premium account, and myspot is nowhere near as good as the actual spotify app for supported phones: i no longer use myspot as my mobile phone is supported.
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if spotify allows myspot or not, i haven't read much about it.
I’m happy to have helped.
