I understand that people don't enjoy making low wages, but they shouldn't take it out on their customers. In general there has been a trend towards worse and worse customer service these days.
At Starbucks the other day I arrived at 10min to 8. They open this store at 8, and I was waiting patiently. An employee came out to get something from a vending machine, I asked him what my chances of getting a coffee at 8am was, and he shrugged his shoulders. I then asked, "Well, do you have any coffee on?" and he said, "yeah."
When 8am finally rolled around I went in the unlocked doors, and the lady said, "Oh we're not open yet, could you come back later please."
As a business, when someone comes by at 5 to 8 even, I will open the doors to serve them. It's called good customer service. She could have easily just poured me a coffee, it would have taken the same amount of time as asking me to leave, though she may have had to stop chatting with the cleaner to do it.
They don't even have to mix a straight coffee... here in Canada we have Tim Hortons, Robins and other places making every coffee to order, and they can pour me a coffee at 8am, let me tell you.
