Currently, I schedule my exams as "tasks", that way i can just view the exam on the StudentDocket screen like I would any regular homework assignment. What kind of countdown feature would you be looking for to handle this differently or more intuitively?

I agree with you but I'd like to have a simple number that show me how many days lack to my examination:
e.g.: English Exam in 15 days.
