I am wondering what ages you recommend this product to?
We think it's best for kids ages 4 to 12, but of course, it varies by child.
For the older kids, the limit is really how generous they can be in
indulging my current themes of babies and talking animals. So, pre-K
through elementary is great, middle school and upper elementary should be fine, high school
might be a stretch, but...
Many of the older students are very good natured about it, and particularly when asked if they would mind testing something new, they don't mind at
all. Some, understandably, won't want to be seen playing with such a cute
game :-). On my drawing board is a new set of themes/characters - changing out the cute stuff for superheroes, scientiests and such - which should appeal more to the older students and even adults.
In the first UAB study,

the kids ranged in age from 6-14. UAB just finished a study w/ 4yo
neurotypical preschoolers that went well (the kids like it and it showed a
benefit). A third study, w/ autistic students from 4 - 12 is gearing up now.

Inappropriate?A third study at UAB is about to begin, which will test FaceSay with 3-6 yo "high functioning" (HFA/Aspergers) students.

Inappropriate?We are awaiting results, but the randomized controlled study w/ 3-6yo higher functioning students with an ASD went well. The kids really enjoyed the games and the 3 yo's were able to play the games, including the new version of "Follow the Face" (used to be too hard for younger kids).
I’m tickled that they liked the games so much.
