DS Manager doesn't discover device in Vista
Hi forum,
I've used DSManager since long time ago, but recently I've realized that if I connect a DS202 to a PC with Windows Vista using a crossover cable, DS Manager can ́t manage to discover the device.
Working a little more on the problem I can say that the reason is that without a DHCP server, if the DS202 has the option "DHCP 1-Enabled", it gets an IP 127.0.0.1. That IP is the reason why DS Manager doesn ́t receive responses to Echo request in Vista (not matter if the firewall is disabled). In Windows XP, the problem doesn ́t appear if I disable firewall. Problem also dissapear if I connect DS202 to PC through a LAN with DHCP server and set a static IP to the DS202.
Has anybody found that behaviour before me? What is different in Vista? How can I solve it without changing DS202 configuration (I can't) and using a crossover cable?
Thanks a lot
