Inappropriate?Hi there!
Are you using EM203 or EM202? -
Inappropriate?Hi, both devices has this problem. And from the Tibbo support, they say that the EM202 don't support broadcast storm because a hardware limit. I thinks that this behavior is unacceptable for an modern Ethernet to serial converser.
Some body could confirm that the buffer overflow that reset the modules, could be resolved at Tbbo factory?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Hi, the tibbo support don't answer me!!! bad policy. I need to resolve this problem. All modules reset when you send 12945 or more in 10 packet of 1300 bytes to any UDP port. The module configuration of the network connection is set for tcp/ip. The UPD traffic is of another application that use the same network.
Please, answer me.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Marian,
I'm sorry to hear you're not getting help from tech support. :( I've sent them an email too, let's see if we can get some help.
About the EM203 (203 -- not 202): Are you using fixed firmware or Tibbo BASIC (TiOS) firmware?
The EM202's problem _cannot_ be resolved -- that's why it's not longer being sold, I believe. -
Inappropriate?Hi Ezuk,
I am using the fixed firmware in both (203 / 202).
Thanks for answering.
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?Hi Marian,
I can understand why you're unsure...
While we wait for support, let's do a little experiment on our own: Can you install the TiOS firmware on the 203, and load the Device Server demo (http://www.tibbo.com/content_show.php...) and then send those same packets?
If it doesn't crash, this may mean we have a firmware bug, so maybe it's simpler to fix. -
Inappropriate?Hi Ezuk,
I experimented with you solution and the module also reset .
The tibbo support answer me and, said : ... "There isn't a solution as it is hardware limited. The network IC that we are using does not offer turning off of UDP broadcast listening."...
Thanks for the help -
Inappropriate?Hi Marian,
Thanks for taking the time to update the forum on this. I am sure it will help other people with this same problem in the future.
I'm sorry we could not give you a better solution on this.
