Topaz Adjust "returned an unknown error" in Paint Shop Pro
I purchased Topaz adjust a while ago. It worked fine with PaintShop Pro X2. I upgraded to version 2.4 and it still worked great. But, today I get an error message in PSPX2 saying "Plugin returned an unknown error" I tried the "repair" feature and also uninstalled and re-installed it. I even downloaded it again and re-installed it; all to no avail. What can I do to get the plugin to run once more? BTW Topaz DeNoise still works fine.
Thanks,
Wally O

Inappropriate?Hi Wallyo,
Try going into the Paint Shop Pro Plug-ins folder and deleting any reference to Topaz Adjust, including any shortcuts or folders. Also remove the custom Plug-ins directory from within the Paint Shop Pro.
Reinstall to the default location and point Paint Shop Pro at the custom plug-in folder C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs\Topaz Adjust\Plugins. Restart Paint Shop Pro and you should now be able to use Topaz Adjust again.
Let me know if these instructions weren't clear enough or if it still doesn't work.
Best regards,

Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
Topaz adjust was installed to the default location (Program Files, etc.) and Paint Shop Pro was pointed to the plugin folder in that location. Also, I have no custom plugins directory in Paint Shop Pro. However, I uninstalled Topaz Adjust entirely and reinstalled it once again to the default directory. It still returns the same error message in PSPX2. PSP obviouslt finds the plugin since it shows up and can be selected. But, it does nothing after that. As I stated, Topax DeNoise is set up the same way and works fine, as do all of my other plugins. Topaz Adjust had been working fine as well, but something has happened to render it inoperable so far.

Inappropriate?Hi wallyo,
That's pretty strange. Please send an email to eric.yang[at]topazlabs.com so I can send you a file which may help.

Inappropriate?I just purchased your PhotoShop Bundle but am in the same boat as Wallyo - using PSPX2 and am getting an error message saying "Plugin returned an unknown error." So I uninstalled all the Topaz products and then reinstalled Adjust and Remask but Adjust still not working (but Remask does).
Not sure why one product is working but another is not. Did the file Eric sent you help at all?

Inappropriate?Nevermind - I figured it out. I think the issue was the fact that I had the .8bf file in both the original folder as well as the PSP Plugin folder. I removed all the file locations that pointed to the Topaz directories and just copied all the Topaz 8bf files into the PSP Plugin folder and they are all working fine now.
I’m better now
