Using Topaz Simplify with GraphicConverter 6.4
Using Topaz Simplify with Graphic Converter 6.4
Eric,
I have been successful in using your Simplify v1 filers with Graphic Converter 6.4 on my Mac OS 10.5.6. I have been using a demo key for the past two weeks. I downloaded your new version 2 and obtained a demo key for that too, but I am never asked for the key during installation, or any time later.
Version 2 crashes Graphic Converter, but I am wondering if the install process might be the problem. To install version 1, I found that Topaz successfully installed itself in the Plugins folder for my Photoshop Elements 4, even though you do not support it. Simplify will not run in PSE 4. To complete the install to GC 6.4 was to copy the Simplify plugin that I found in the PSE 4 plugin folder and pasted it into the GC plugins folder, and that worked.
I did go to http://www.topazlabs.com/downloads/ and downloaded the V-2 installer.
The version 2 installer does not install into PSE v4 this time, so I copied the plugin from the Topaz folder and pasted it to GC plugins folder, but as I mentioned, Version 2 crashes the program within a few seconds of my selecting the Version 2 filter set.
Being that I am never prompted for a user Key, I am thinking that there is a problem with the installer, which unlike V 1, did not install to PSE.
On a whim, I deleted all references to Topaz 1 and 2, and then tried to reinstall V 2 by itself to see if I was prompted for a key during installation. I was not, and the crashing result is the same.
I thought that you would like to know that I had great success using Version 1 with Graphic Converter, so I thought I would ask if you had any ideas as to why V 2 is not prompting for key, and if you feel that this, or know of some other possibility as to why V 2 is not working.
Thanks, CaptJon

Inappropriate?Thanks CaptJon...
We'll be looking into this. Meanwhile I've sent your email address a Simplify 1 key that you can use in the interim.
Best,
