Announcing FrontDoor 5.3.3, Carousel 5.2.7, Cablecast 4.8.4 and DVD Import 5.0.2!

We are proud to announce four software releases today, including FrontDoor 5.3.3, Carousel 5.2.7, Cablecast 4.8.4 and DVD Import 5.02! Please read through all of the release notes to view the refinements made in each release.

*Important Note: FrontDoor 5.3.3 installs .NET 3.5 SP1 framework, which is required for Carousel 5.2.7 and Cablecast 4.8.4. So it is imperative that you install FrontDoor 5.3.3 FIRST. The new framework can take some time to install, so be prepared for a potential wait while installing FrontDoor.

Release Notes for Front Door 5.3.3

New 4091: Tightrope Support Tool supports TeamViewer
The TeamViewer ID is now integrated in to the Support Tool.

New 4467: Installer includes web download installer for .NET 3.5 SP1
.Net 3.5 SP1 is required for FrontDoor 5.3.3, Carousel 5.2.7 and Cablecast 4.8.4.

Bug 4183: Error when user with admin role deletes their own account
Users can no longer delete their own accounts.

Bug 4402: Disabled Wireless and/or LAN disassociates hardware ID from licensing
Carousel systems no longer need to be re-licensed when LAN and/or Wireless is disabled.

Bug 4207: FrontDoor TimeSync will not log errors/failures to the WebUI log
Time Sync success and error messages now provide more detailed information.

Bug 3914: Carousel 5 Migration tool fails when upgrading from 4.5 to 5.2
The Migration Tool successfully migrates data from Carousel 4.5 to 5.2

Bug 3982: Digital clock custom format includes n
Fixed an error where newlines would show up as n instead of putting a line break in the clock text.

Bug 2267: When the crawl is moved from bottom to top, an empty space remains on the bottom
Zones weren't being moved correctly when the crawl changed positions.

Bug 4410: Installer now checks for .NET 3.5 SP1, does not install if it's present
.NET 3.5 SP1 is required for Carousel 5.2.7, FrontDoor 5.3.3 and Cablecast 4.8.4.

Bug 4146: Template editor unexpected error "Parameter is not valid"
Fixed a problem where the code to scale a picture block could cause an error in the template editor.

New 4157: Picture block aspect ratio control
An option was added to the template editor to allow a picture block's image to stretch to fit or to maintain the aspect ratio when scaling.

Bug 3984: A picture the same size as a template renders off by 1 pixel at top and left
Fixed a rounding error that could cause a picture block to render a single pixel to the right or down from where it should.

Bug 4014: Manage bulletins (by user) pull down is not alphabetized
The user list is now sorted alphabetically by last name.

Bug 3974: Display Engine sometimes loses synchronization state after a cycle completes
Fixed a problem with zone synchronization where it could get out of sync after a complete cycle elapsed.

Bug 3919: Installer shouldn't install Clone tool and Database Manager on Players
The Clone tool and Database manager are tools for Carousel Servers and should not be installed on Players.

Bug 4422: Carousel ScreenSaver works incorrectly in Windows 7
The Carousel ScreenSaver works as expected in Windows 7.

Bug 4082: Feeds containing excluded words are not being filtered from RSS bulletins and crawls
Fixed an error that was causing items with excluded words in the content of the item to appear on an RSS bulletin.

Bug 4224: Bulletins must be authorized when moved/copied to zone where user needs approval
When a user moves a bulletin to another zone, it will now require authorization for that zone if the user who is moving it does not have auto authorize permission to that zone.

Bug 4400: Clean up error logs
Removed inconsequential errors from the event log, such as stopping and starting the DisplayEngine.

Bug 3965: Carousel video uploaded with a pound sign in the name will not play
Fixed quoting of file uploaded names to allow players to download them.

Bug 3977: Display Engine crashes to desktop
Fixed a problem where corrupt or unsupported audio files could crash the Display Engine when attempting to play.

Bug 4204: User with Manage Bulletins role returned to FD when editing a bulletin
The Edit Bulletin button no longer appears if you have manage bulletin access, only if you have create access.

Bug 4051: Screensaver installer is not installing correctly on Windows
Fixed a problem in the .msi package for the Windows screensaver that was causing it not to be installed properly. The problem was manifested as the screensaver not working or running an older version.

Bug 4028: Cannot remove admin email without replacing it with another
The email field now allows you to return it to the original empty state.

Bug 4029: Waiting bulletin email notifications not going out
Email notifications are now sent out even if there are invalid addresses in the list.

Bug 3978: Uploading Media Package in too small a zone results in error
Fixed a problem with auto-sizing text that could cause an error when resizing to a zone that was small.

Bug 4458: Service stops post initial boot up
Service now starts as expected and will generate an error if it cannot connect to the database.

Bug 3637: Sort tags in the zone selector screen alphabetically
In the tag-based zone selector, the zone list is now sorted alphabetically.

Bug 4053: WebDisplay displays wrong zone dimensions in IE6
Fixed a bug where certain zone layouts would not render at the proper size in IE6.

Bug 3959: Text blocks change quotation marks to single quotes
Changed handling of edit field text fields so they now allow double quotes.

Bug 4385: Remove My Standard as an option when moving Alert bulletins
No longer allow full alert bulletins to move to the nonexistent standard bulletin list.

Bug 4011: Problems Accessing Zone Settings
Fixed a problem where editing the zone settings was checking for the wrong access right it was checking for the system configuration right instead of zone setup.

Bug 4220: No player license found message in DisplayEngine on new units
The startup of a system now populates the player license count rather than requiring the user to first log into the Carousel Web UI.

Bug 4303: DVD Import hangs on Vista x64
DVD Import behaves as expected in Vista x64.

Bug 4427: DVD Import Broken in Windows 7
DVD Import is now compatible with Windows 7.

Bug 3905: Bug text moves proportionally to any move of DSKEngine Window
Oops! Moving the DSKEngine window will no longer cause the bug text to move on the output.

Bug 4200: SierraSVSCM does not get status when using different levels
The SierraSVSCM now uses the 'SierraSVSCMLevels' setting from the TRMS.Services.CablecastDeviceControl.exe.config file to correctly get status

Bug 4058: SX Servers playback is interrupted when Autopilot is sent
SX Servers will no longer display a few frames of black when Autopilot is sent

Bug 4223: SXPlayer Resumes not Logged with a negative event ID
Events that are resumed are now logged with a negative event ID for diagnostic purposes

Bug 3963: LeitchTerminalCM doesn't get feedback from Harris Platinum Router
The LeitchTerminalCM now works correctly with Harris Platinum routing switchers

Bug 4093: Resume message in event viewer could be more descriptive
The message that is logged when a show is resumed is now much more useful. It is also logged as an information message instead of an error.

Bug 4301: Ajax doesn't work outside of port 80
Cablecast now plays nicely with HTTP on ports other than port 80.

Bug 4202: Record runs aren't updated when changes to source run are made
Changes to the source of a record run are now correctly propagated to the record run

New 4468: Installer now checks for .NET 3.5 SP1, does not install if it's not present
NET 3.5 SP1 is required for Cablecast 4.8.4, FrontDoor 5.3.3 and Carousel 5.2.7.

Bug 4096: Enseo driver not found error is misleading
A much more useful message is generated if the Enseo Alchemy hardware cannot be located

Bug 4337: SX Servers sometimes report various errors.
Resolved an issue that was periodically causing various errors to be reported on SX Series Servers

Bug 4206: Knox64CM does not get status from some Knox RSII Series Routing Switchers
The Knox64CM will now try getting status using both the 'D' and the 'D0' commands.

Bug 3980: SX Servers fail to resolve Shortcuts to media files
SX Servers will not properly follow shortcuts to locate media files

Bug 4338: "Can't Start Thread" errors should be more descriptive
If an event fails to execute, the message that is logged in the Event Viewer is now much more useful

Bug 4097: ControlModules will attempt to sync time from multiple sources
In the unlikely event that two or more Cablecast systems exist on the network, only one of them will now be able to synchronize time. A message is logged to the Event Viewer when this situation arises

Bug 4141: File in use error on SX Servers
Attempting to play a file shortly after its encoding completes will no longer cause an error

Bug 4043: Check Cablecast for depreciated license compliance
Cablecast will now ignore all depreciated license keys

Bug 4099: End action of Stop can cause issues with Back-to-Back playback
An end action of 'Stop' no longer causes issues when performing back-to-back playback.

Bug 4143: SXPlayerCM can get confused if two shows start at the same time
Two shows starting at the same time will no longer cause errors on SX Servers

New 4439: SX Servers should confirm the correct version of QuickTime is installed
The SX Servers now check the quicktime version at startup to protect against potential incompatibilities.
