Strip @'s out of @replies pretty please?
Here's the situation. USCellular customers have this problem where any texts from Twitter containing an @ come through with everything blank starting at the @.
THIS SUCKS because any @replies we get come thru as blank texts! Cant get our replies! Twitter knows about the problem (and has for 6+ months) and isnt fixing it.
YOU COULD SWOOP IN AND BE THE SAVIOR HERE!!!
If you could somehow offer @ replies (using track) but strip the @ off, USCellular users could use Tweettrak as a workaround for getting their @ replies!
This is an unbelievably frustrating problem with Twitter for USCell users, and I cant tell you what a hero you'd be if you gave us a solution!
And for the record, even Tweettrak's @messages-converted-to-DM's come through blank after the @, since it's comeing from Twitter, it suffers the same problem. Delete/replace the @, and we're in business!
Here's a link to the getsatisfaction topic discussing this issue:
Incoming SMS tweet with an "@" symbol in it is blank after the "@"
Lot's of unhappy USCell tweeters there.
Starting around HERE a Twitter employee asked for examples, so if you go there you can see what we're dealing with.
Thanks for considering!!!!

Inappropriate?Wow.. I never heard about this before!
I'll add it to the list of things to do.. Once I get the website so that you can log in and set what you want to track on there, I'll add an option so that you can strip out the @'s...
I'm actually thinking of replacing them with a * or something... since that @ character actually means something and removing it may be confusing.
It will probably be a week or two before I get around to that.. I've had very little free time lately... =/

Thanks Ryan! Yeah you wouldnt know it was happening unless you're a USCell user, and then you know cuz it's super irritating!
Replace/strip, don't matter to me! Just as long as it's outa there! :) I'll be your test subject if you have no USCellular friends, when you get to this. THANKS so much for considering, you're gonna make alot of peeps happy! :) -
I'm actually surprised at how easy it is to make people happy!
I wrote the core of TweetTrak in a weekend because I missed Tracking.. There's a few more things to fix on it, but the response has been overwhelming.
Its really pretty trivial to implement all this... the only question is how well it will hold up under 10000+ users... word is slowly spreading and all seems to be running well so far!
Thanks for the support! -
Inappropriate?Meep meep! Twitter is ignoring the desperate cries of all of it's USCell users. We cry out in vain! Where's our hero!!!
