Yep! It's pretty easy; just log in to Twitter, and:
1. Click "Find and Invite"
2. Click "Find folks from your email address book"
3. Enter your info to follow friends who already use Twitter, or invite friends
We just added support for the following:
AOL
Gmail
Yahoo
Hotmail
Mac.com
MSN.com
Windows Live
Thanks!

Inappropriate? What happened to Mac.com? It seems to have disappeared from the options for finding folks from your email address book. Is it coming back?
-
Inappropriate?Ok, is this "find and follow" actually working? I still haven't made it through w/o a "sorry, that page doesn't exist" error page, and at different points in the process to boot!
I’m frustrated.
-
Inappropriate?Hmm. I can't locate "Find and Invite" nor "Find folks from your email address book" - all I see is "Find & Follow" and a list of online email services.
What I'd like to do is find folks in my (MacOS) email address book who are using Twitter. I tried Gmail but Twitter comes back and sez I have no email contacts. (Not true, honest!)
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Hi guys,
It's called "Find&Follow" now, and you can find the page in your top nav bar while logged into Twitter, or here:
https://twitter.com/invitations
We're making some changes in the next couple of weeks, so you might notice some differences. We currently have notice that says "You must provide a valid email address" if you don't append @gmail.com to your user name in addition the the drop down box selection, which we'll be fixing with the change.

Inappropriate?is there support for gmail accounts using apps for your domain. It seems not at present, which is a bummer
-
Inappropriate?Come one, some common ways are missing:
- mac.com
- csv files import
- Live custom domains (that uses exactly the same APIs of hotmail, but with a custom domain)
are you so lazy?
I see only downgrades, so far.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Add .mac support or not, the ability to upload a vCard file is about as universal as it gets.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Solution:
Address Book. Click on any contact. Press command-a to highlight all contacts, File > Export > Export vCard
Go to or sign-up for a gmail account. Under "Contacts" click "import" and upload your vCard file to gmail. Use the gmail import from twitter. Poof now all your contacts are loaded.
Yeah, it's the long way around, but it took me longer to type this message than it did to upload the contacts.
I’m good

Inappropriate? An automatic way would be more comfortable and user friendly.
Reason: I already have enough address books, I don't want to create a new one on gMail. -
Inappropriate?Hi, I ́m a new user. Do people actually give out their gmail passwords in order to import contacts? That does not feel right to me. Is there no way to import contacts from a file exported from gmail?

Inappropriate?hi, robert. it does happen, though it's not considered a 'best of breed" approach. gmail now has a contacts API that companies can use to pull out contacts without requiring their users to give up username/password information, but twitter's implementation was done before google made that available, so username/password was at the time the only way to go.
i'm sure once they get past some of their current technical challenges and have more room to maneuver, they'll update their approach. -
Inappropriate? Thanks Lane. That API is interesting, didn ́t know about that one. I ́m sure it will become a very useful tool for twitter-type applications.
