Error while importing contacts from Gmail
When I tried to invite contacts by importing them from my Gmail account (jason.thuli@gmail.com), I get an error.
The error is nothing but a white screen that says "This method requires a POST". My password has a semi-colon (;) in it, so I don't know if that's throwing things off during the request.
Anyway, thought I'd bring that to your attention.
Oh, I'm using Firefox v.2.0.0.6 on Windows XP Pro.

Inappropriate?Got this problem, too and I'm also using Firefox. A couple of days it said that I actually had no contacts in Gmail that it could import, which is definitely not correct.
Not sure what the problem is.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? It actually allowed me past the "This method requires a POST" screen and I got the "No Contacts" screen. :S
I’m confuzzled
-
Inappropriate? One time it seemed to make it past the error screen, only to say I have no contacts too. I even tried changing my password to a simple one with just letters and numbers (no semicolon), and I still got the error.
I’m hoping things get fixed soon
-
Inappropriate?Didn't work with my Gmail or my AOL address. Tested in IE as well -- no dice (message is different, though).
I’m puzzled.
-
Inappropriate?I just signed up with Twitter and get the same message while trying to import contacts from Gmail. Once I got the "you don't have any contacts to import" message. I'm using FireFox 3.01, on Windows XP, SP3.
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate? The error where folks were getting the "This method requires POST" message should now be fixed.
-
I'm still getting the "POST" message - this is the URL it shows ... http://twitter.com/invitations/invite...
Does that help you at all? -
Same with me, first try- no contacts. second try- "POST" -
Same here -
Still not fixed. Getting the same errors as Falcon, Monkey and GAC -
I'm with the others - Mac 10.5.4 / Safari 3.1.2 / Gmail Invites still fail with the "This method requires a POST" on a white screen. -
I, too, am still getting the error. FF3 on Windows 98 (I know, I know!). -
Yeah, I tried again yesterday, and no luck. -
I just signed up and I am getting this error. I can't get started :( -
Inappropriate?I'm still getting the same error on Mac OS X in both Safari 3.1 and Firefox 3.0.
-
Inappropriate?still not fixed...on Mac OSX in Firefox 3.0
-
Inappropriate? Not fixed for me either on FF 3 running on Windows 98. Makes no difference if I'm signed into gmail or not. I get the "This method requires a POST" error; previously I got the "no contacts" error, which is incorrect as I have over a thousand contacts.

Inappropriate?....so where is Twitters update - what is the rep doing? A little information on whether this is even being looked at would be nice...
I’m wondering if Twitter knows what they're doing
-
Inappropriate?I've got this problem too, even though they say it's solved. I like Twitter, but these strange messages (that is very common to Rails, which is the framework Twitter is built with) makes me disappointed.
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?Same here but I get a "technical error" message - I know I have a lot of contacts in gmail and I know my password!
-
Inappropriate?Same problem here. Tried in IE and FF with gmail and hotmail. Its been the same for the past week!
I’m borderline riot
-
Inappropriate?First I got a screen that said there was a techncial problem and then it told me I had no contatcts. Using IE.
I’m feeling like a loser
-
Inappropriate?Am on a pre-Intel Mac running 10.4.11, using Firefox 3.0 and am attempting to upload Gmail contacts. Error page starts with "Something is technically wrong".
-
Inappropriate? Now I'm getting the "Something is technically wrong" message instead too. Progress! ;)
I’m surprised
-
Inappropriate?Same here exactly! Well, at least it's consistent!
-
Inappropriate?IT WORKED! On a mac with firefox! Bingo, case closed!
-
Inappropriate?Still having this problem... for weeks now. Have tried it on Mac and PC using firefox, safari, and IE. What is being done to resolve this?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?TRY IT NOW! It just worked, first time 5 minutes ago! Let me know...
-
just tried and got this msg again "This method requires a POST." Tried both gmail and yahoo. on firefox and IE -
Inappropriate?Not working, using Firefox 3.01
