You might want to check out a bookmarklet at http://lizzer.com that makes it easy to find and insert links into your tweets with just one click.
Also, it will automatically shorten your links so you can get the most out of the 140 character limit in Twitter.
You launch the Lizzer bookmarklet, find what you want, click on insert, and off you go. I think the real secret sauce here is also to use one of the included services like delicious to see what people are bookmarking.
I'm sure you'll find your own secrets along the way.

Inappropriate?functionality for shortening URLS / Pictures as well as other features are all built into Tweetdeck - but as a one off - copy and paste the link including the http:// part to make it clickable.
