Is anyone else getting spam DMs from people you know aren't spammers?
I've gotten several emails and sms updates from people I follow, some that I know personally, that are spam links like weightloss sites. What can I do?

Inappropriate? They have probably typed in their password somewhere they shouldn't have and their accounts are being used. You should probably notify these people to change their passwords.

Inappropriate?Even worse is being the one whose DM is being used to send these messages....and it isn't me. So many DM have been sent that my limit has been reached and I didnt' send any of them. So frustrated!

Inappropriate?martie - me too, my account got hacked and sent about 100 DMs. I deleted all of my twitter connect authorizations to see if that would help, but it didn't, then I changed my password. Hoping that does it but I have no idea what caused the DM spam.

Inappropriate?Mine was also hacked a few days ago. It started when I clicked on a dm from Tyson Apostle of Survivor fame, who I was following. The DM said "ha ha is this you?" and had a link. Turns out it was a phishing scam. Then, my account started sending out DMs which I could not see. One very nice lady (yeah right) told me to "just die you spam whore." I checked to see if I had any connect authorizations, I didn't, and then changed my password. Changed it several times, in fact. Hope that takes care of it. If you type in account hacked or something like that, twitter has a page that will give you suggestions on what to do. Good luck. Don't forget to change passwords on other sites where you use the same twitter password.
