not receiving e-mails announcing new followers
I'm not receiving e-mails when someone starts following me I notice my follower count increase but there's no e-mail announcing that I have a new follower. I have chacked that myn e-mail address is correct and that the box is checked to receive notification.

Inappropriate?Twice I have had unknown people who aer obvioulsy just trying to sell something follow me, and I didn't receive notification. When my friends add me, I do get the email. So, I assume people have figured out how to get round the email being sent. -
Inappropriate?I'm getting something similar, with gibberish usernames before the slash and obscene "names" after the slash. Is there a way to auto-block a particular string in the name? (It's very similar every time)

Inappropriate?I will log on to Twitter and find that I have several new followers, but I never got an email to say they were following me. I know my email address is working because I'm getting DM emails regularly. I've checked my setting several times, but it's still a problem.

Inappropriate?E-mail notifications are inconsistent for me. Sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't. Just this afternoon, I received a notification. I then went to look at my latest followers and there were half a dozen there I didn't recognize and had received no e-mails notifying me of them.

Inappropriate?I just realized that Twitter's e-mail notifications may have been "lost" in my spam folder. Upon checking I've found out that Gmail's spam filter has actually categorized some of these e-mails as spam. I suggest everyone who has this problem checks whether the issue is the spam filter...

Spam folder is not the cause in my case. Never mind the fact that my spam filter only marks messages as spam in the inbox and doesn't move them anywhere, the address I use is unique and private. I'm 100% positive I'm not missing any notifications to the spam box. -
Inappropriate?I've been having this problem for at least a month now, as well. I get emails for less than half of my new followers. I've noticed many of the followers for whom I don't get emails seem to be spam/porn accounts but not all of them. One email did make it to my spam box (on Gmail), but that is the exception; except for that one, the emails either do not arrive at all or land in my inbox.
