Inappropriate?I am having this problem as well. I noticed it today (Aug 2), but I haven't had the need to delete a DM before today.
I’m frustrated

I too can delete Direct Messages! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! -
The erase Direct Messages problem is back. As of today, 9/27, I get the this post requires..... message when trying to erase my DM -
if i delete a direct message which was sent does it mean d person getting it also doesnt get it?? -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the update, Jason! I can confirm that I'm able to delete direct messages both sent and received.
I *do* have a couple of follow-up questions (hope you don't mind).
I used to be able to right-click the trash can icon and select "open in new tab" to avoid having to wait for the direct messages page to refresh before I delete the next message. Of course I had to close all the new tabs individually, but it was a minor inconvenience when I'm on a deleting spree.
This right-click and open-in-new-tab to delete a message was especially helpful when I'm deleting a message from my Sent DM page, because when the page reloads after I delete a Sent DM, it always puts me back in my Inbox DM page. I would have to click the Sent tab again just to delete the next Sent DM.
(Not sure I'm explaining all this clearly).
So, in light of the above, my questions are:
1. Will it be possible to enhance the fix further so that the right-click-open-in-new-tab to delete a message capability comes back?
Right now, when I right-click the trash-can and open-in-new-tab, the DM page just loads but doesn't delete the direct msg.
2. If for security reasons, #1 above is no longer possible, can Twitter at least put me back in the Sent DM page when the page refreshes after I delete a sent DM?
I’m hopeful
