Why can't I post my own Tiny URL??
Is Twitter no longer supporting TinyURLs? I got a message to that effect just now, but others' posts seem to include them...

Inappropriate?I just posted a tweet a few minutes ago that had a link that turned into a tinyurl.
May I ask -- What message in particular did you get? And were you using the Twitter website when you received this message? -
Inappropriate?I am using the twitter website. It simply says "this post is over 140 characters" and won't let me post
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Ah yes. Twitter won't accept any post that's over 140 characters, even if the tweet includes a URL that you expect to be shortened by tinyurl.
If your tweet was less than 140 characters and the URL was more than 30 characters long, Twitter will accept the tweet and will shorten the URL. -
Inappropriate?I recommend shortening URLs with tr.im before posting them.
I’m slightly annoyed by this.

Inappropriate? If you're looking to add links to your tweets, you might want to check out a bookmarklet call Lizzer. It's been reviewed by @Orli recently.
It lets you add links to your tweets and automatically shortens them along the way.
Check out the service at http://lizzer and see the very helpful blog post at http://blog.go2web20.net/ -
Inappropriate? If you just want to post a sinlge url you could even use this bookmarklet that will just forward you to the twitter page but with a shortened link and the title of the page pre-filled into the textarea: http://bernhardhaeussner.de/blog/58_N...
