What is MasterCard Securecode?

MasterCard Securecode is a new system in use, that affects online transactions using either a MasterCard Credit Card, or a Maestro Debit Card. When you are ready to place your order, and choose one of these types of cards as payment, you'll be taken through to the SecureCode site for your card issuing bank.

The Securecode site will ask you for your Securecode password ( or a sequence of characters therein), which you will have chosen when your card was enrolled.

If you have not already enrolled your card in this scheme, you'll be asked some simple security questions, such as your postcode and date of birth, and then be asked to submit a password.

Some banks may have autoenrolled your card, and you will have received a letter with your password, or a key fob that shows a numerical password.

If you have any trouble using the Securecode system, please contact your card issuing bank, who will be able to assist.
