Fire Eagle should take advantage of of iPhone OS 3.0’s new support for location services for web applications
Just like Flickr prompts you to allow permission for “m.flickr.com” to access your location, so should Fire Eagle prompt you to allow permission for "m.fireeagle.yahoo.net" to access your location.

Inappropriate?This is a lovely idea, that I'll talk to the guys about and see if we can put this together. I'm not sure that it's something that can happen in the browser though, rather than in an app, but I'll look into it.

Flickr already takes advantage of this and so does Google Latitude, so it's possible (and presumably documented by Apple).
