Why won't Yahoo Domains let me cancel service??
I have registered more than a hundred domains with Yahoo Domains...they were charging $9.95 per domain. Now they have increased the renewal fee to $34.95...so looking at the extortion, I'm shifting to another domains provider which is still charging $9.95 per year...
I have requested to shift one domain to a different provider and have decided to drop one for the time being. Yahoo Domains won't let me cancel the service (it takes me back to the domains page) and won't even let me remove my credit card information...
I hope I can transfer to the other provider and Yahoo won't blackmail & frustrate me further...and also cancel service for the domains I don't need anymore...
Is anyone from Yahoo listening?

Inappropriate?Clear your cookies and cache. That's the number one cause of this problem.
IE6: From the Menu Bar, do Tools | Internet Options | You land in the General Tab of a new pop-out small window titled Internet Options. Click on Delete Cookies and confirm, then Delete Temporary Internet Files and confirm. When completed, close the Internet Options window.
Firefox: From the Menu Bar, do Tools | Clear Private Data. Make sure only the Cookies, Cache and Authenticated Sessions tick boxes are checked, then proceed to clear those.
For other browsers, consult the browser's instructions.
After clearing cookies and cache/temporary internet files, then go to your Domain Control Panel. Make sure the domain registration is public, not locked, and that the WHOIS record shows a valid and working Adminisitrative E-mail address (any of those can cause failure to transfer).
If that does not resolve the problem. call Yahoo! support at 866-800-8092 options 1 - 1 - 1.

Inappropriate?I'm shocked that they are charging me this domain renewal with b.s. thing called domain management service for $43. While GODADDY does it for less than $8. We never used it or authorize Yahoo for this.
Why shouldn't they allow us to get our money back? Will they go bankrupt to refund our $43. I won't go hungry to pay that $43. But no human being will allow oneself to be cheated, not even for $10. Especially if that company is worth billions.
I am also shocked to find out they don't have a customer support email. If only people knew about this.... They expect us to call them and make us spend of long distance bills. This is clearly a preventive measure to make it harder for customers to get their rightful service.
The management there must now about this sham. And they don't deserve to sit on that chair. It's plain to see why this company will never ever overtake google again.
I’m mad at YAHOO

Inappropriate? It's a form! It takes you from one question to the next, and what if your specific question isn't there? (Its not)
I'm now getting these emails which sound threatening...(they will suspend my account etc)...well, I donot wish to renew my domains with yahoo. But I dont want to find out that they have somehow blocked my other 95 domains because I decided not to renew 5 domains with them (they also dont let me cancel plans...and thankgod my old credit card is blocked, because they won't even let me cancel my credit card info!)... -
Inappropriate?SUSPENDED ACCOUNT -- Your account has been suspended. To reactivate it, please update your billing info.
This is what it says after I login to my account!
What do they mean suspended? I have paid in advance for the registered domains! -
Inappropriate? Please let me know how it goes. I am facing the same problem and I'm unable to transfer my domain to my other domain registrar because the e-mail for my domain name uses my yahoo! account which is suspended. Although I know my authorization code, I am unable to approve the transfer because the transfer verification e-mail is sent to my Yahoo! account which is banned. I am unable to get any good, decent replies from the people at yahoo, all I get is a copy and paste cookie-cutter reply. I am even more shocked that when I received "administrative notice", I replied to them several times asking why they are sending me these notices, and yet none of them replied. I actually thought it was some type of phishing e-mail.
I’m fed up

Inappropriate?I also feel the $34.95 price is unreasonable. I did a 2 year plan where the first year is 2.95, the 2nd is 12.95, then forgot to cancel renewal in time and the auto-renew kicked in and charged my credit card 34.95. I don't even remember getting notified that that is what the cost would be after the 2 year contract. I have used their customer service form for a refund and hoping they'll at least partially refund me. The domain has already been renewed so I don't know what cost they have incurred with ICANN, but it should not be $34.95. They should at least refund me the portion above their own costs to any 3rd parties.
I’m hoping for a refund

Inappropriate?About 1 day after I submitted a request for a refund, I got a positive response from them:
From Yahoo Small Biz:
"I understand you have closed your Yahoo! Domain services order and would
like to have a refund consideration for this order. I will be happy to
assist you with your request.
Please accept this email as confirmation that I have issued a refund in
the amount of $25.00 to your credit card. You may need to allow 3 to 5
business days to view this credit on your credit card balance. I am not
able to fully refund this charge, as we have sent your registration fee
to the Registrar and this domain name remains registered to you for an
additional year and this fee is not recoverable."

I'm glad there's someone at Yahoo Small Biz who made an effort to look into my case and did the appropriate thing. It's restored my confidence in their support services.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?customer phone support 866-849-8258 is only an answering machine. Keeps directing me to www.smallbusiness.yahoo.com/contactus but I'm not able to cancel my domain as it's registered by my ex-worker and it's charged to my credit card for auto renewal. Anyone can help

Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem, but in reverse.
I canceled my domain with them after initiating the transfer, because otherwise I was gonna get billed $34.95 for the next year. I didn't even know they had my credit card. AND they refused to delete it from their records until I replaced it with another valid one. Is that even legal? I DIDN'T WANT THEM TO HAVE MY CREDIT CARD. I wish I had access to a one time credit card facility for assholes like these.
They IMMEDIATELY switched off all DNS records after I canceled, so now I'm not getting ANY email and my website has broken, and both will be out for 5 days until the transfer goes through.
They also REFUSED to re-set up my DNS records because I had canceled. Hello? I only wanted to NOT renew. I didn't sign up to have my email blown away too.
They should burn in hell. I hope their stock tanks. -
Inappropriate? My situation is that I have already switched to Powerpipe. Recently I received a mail from Yahoo Domains stating that they intend to charge me USD30+ fo using their services. When I went into Yahoo Business,, I tried tocancel the service. Despite cancelling it, I still receive notificatoin that they intend to charge me.
I also have another domain name where they also state that they will charge me but I have tried emailing Yahoo . Is there any other option besides calling their customer service number? I am not based in US.
I’m pissed
-
Inappropriate?I'd call the credit card company and ask them to reverse the charge. Then let Yahoo fight it out with them.
