Zemanta

I suggest if you should make zemanta for freewebs.com .

It would be nice to be able to search for specific topics along side the ideas that are already given. I like not having to even change tabs to find relevant info but it would be nice to have the option to search for specific term one at a time as well.

It would be great if, next to the already available plugins for, for instance, Wordpress, there would be a generic class for using Zemanta, for instance in custom blogging software. In my case, a PHP5 class would be awesome.

If you read some of the bigger blogs, at the base of each post, they have a related articles section. But the related articles are from their own blog. It would be great if you could optionally configure zemanta to pull in related articles from your own blog.

Would it be possible to add :

videos
searches on major search engines
links to news-articles

as suggested content?

It would be great if the photo gallery contained more than nine photo suggestions. Maybe it could still display nine but have a scroll bar so more photos could be seen.

Also, is there any way that more than one photo could be used in a post? If I try to use a second photo, it wipes out the first one.

Thanks for a great FF extension. I really enjoy it!

It would be nice if there was a way to mark a suggestion as not being appropriate for the blog text. In this way Zemanta could learn from its mistakes.

I'm a french non-blogger(well, yeah, I don't blog, I cure myself of the Inextinguible Webwriting Syndrome by webwriting).
Anyhow, there's something wrong : the syntaxical and semantical analysis is definitly obviously designed and/or optimized for english language (Did I say I was a French speaking blo...non-blogger?)

By tranlating or adpating any kind of piece of software (db code, I can help, java code, I can help, php I can help, something else? I can learn, and then, quickly, I can help).
Zemanta NEEDS to be worldwide known.

It's not fair, that some bloggers have the chance of using Zemanta, and that many others, that haven't been introduced to this new eye on web blogging, stay stucked in the blogging of the 20th century?

Collaborate with ecto, Mars Edit, or another blog posting program to include Zemanta would be AWESOME. I would pay for that, as the third party apps are much better interfaces, generally, than the web interface o either Wordpress or Blogger.

If I don't want to use any of the picture suggestions, it would be nice to be able to indicate that I'd like to discard the current suggestions and get some new ones.

You're writing a post, Zemanta makes some link suggestions and you click on them to select them. Then later there are new link suggestions, and the first ones are no longer displayed. This means you can no longer click on the selected suggestions to deselect them.

Perhaps a solution to this could be separating the selected suggestions from the non-selected ones, so Zemanta can suggest new things without you losing the ability to deselect suggestions.

Part of blogging is to have unique content - I think it would be very useful to be able to personalize the link suggestions, e.g. ability to let zemanta factor in selected blogrolls, favorite sites, tags, ... and any other way to let the suggested links get a personal flavour

Zemanta does not load when using blogger draft, should be easy just to add - test for the url http://draft.blogger.com/*

I love your product, I was thinking about writing my own WP extension just yesterday. I was happy to see in the FAQ that you are working on having the users own content come up.

There should be a preference to have a users own content come up first. As you probably know, linking to ones past posts helps to increase hits (more ads loaded) and keeps a visitor on your site longer. If theres a preference to enable or disable this preference that would be nice.

Also I don't understand why when a company name is typed a link to wikipedia is suggested instead of to that company's official site. Wikipedia is usually linked to reference something like a concept, a historial reference or sometimes a person. Like today I sent a link to my friend on Wikipedia about.mobi. So if you could have a preference where it uses official sites instead of wikipedia entries that would be good.

You definitely have to enhance the images feature, There should be a more icon or button to view the next 9 images or something, Not satisfied with this. If your concern is too much loading time, having a button would solve that, it would only affect those who want to see more image results.

The links are impressive, the key words refer always to Wikipedia which is a bit simplistic in my humble opinion
